In the 6th minute Celso Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Marco Netto came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Jauaraita fans jumped to their feet. The referee showed Gino França the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pedro Augusto Castro hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The supporters of Jauaraita booed when Docimhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Docimhas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldinho de Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Docimhas booed when Jauaraita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jauaraita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Netto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Geraldo de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Jauaraita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo de Moraes couldn't finish the play. Docimhas's Pedro Luiz Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Netto in the 53rd minute of play. Celso Souto struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Túlio Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Docimhas. Geraldo de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luiz Teles having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, Jauaraita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Netto to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Luiz Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Douglas Tavares went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If Geraldo de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Matorin got free with Túlio Santos in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th match minute, Jauaraita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas Tavares to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute Celso Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Celso Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Docimhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Souto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Túlio Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Humberto Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Jauaraita getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Cordeiro hit a great ball. Docimhas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
