The ball had pretty good speed, but Eriberto Mota firmly grabbed it by the left post. Eriberto Mota made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Rubinho Leal sent off a good shot on target. Real Caobianco FC's Eriberto Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Mendonça in the 21st minute of play. Celsinho Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Eusébio Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Nestor Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leandro Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Eusébio Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vera Cruz FN's goalkeeper Eusébio Carioca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anselmo Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vera Cruz FN's Rubinho Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vera Cruz FN booed when Real Caobianco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Eduardo Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eusébio Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Damião in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nestor Mendonça made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Rubinho Leal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eriberto Mota. Real Caobianco FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rubinho Leal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Adilson Velasco made in the 68th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Real Caobianco FC's Luís Eduardo Lima. Celsinho Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Carioca having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, Celsinho Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Caobianco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celsinho Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute, Celsinho Damião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eriberto Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubinho Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celsinho Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Celsinho Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Real Caobianco FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Vera Cruz FN had won, even though Real Caobianco FC had held more of the ball.
