Gordos d B.'s Fabiano Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wanderson Mota in the 27th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as La Coruja F.C.'s Luís Zonta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabiano Catarinense. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. Fabiano Catarinense had great luck who in the 32ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Wanderson Mota from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Wanderson Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gordos d B.'s Fabiano Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Gordos d B. from getting a goal against them. Luís Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. When the match had been going on for 84 minutes, Gordos d B.'s Hamílton Toscano got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of João Francisco de Carvalho.
