Spectators: 7207 (Terracing: 5407, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Marco Netto took the kick off in the first half of the match. Alexsandro Nunes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, one of Jauaraita:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jauaraita. 10 minutes into the game, Hélio Tepedino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Túlio Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jauaraita's Geraldo de Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game, Geraldo de Moraes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Luizão Terra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geraldo de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Terra having to interfere. Nelsinho Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nelsinho Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes SC Corinthians Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Nelsinho Carvalho. Túlio Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michel Peres's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Sebastião Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Corinthians Paulista's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastião Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Túlio Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the match, SC Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Luizão Terra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo de Moraes. Túlio Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Geraldo de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jauaraita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geraldo de Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Michel Peres made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo de Moraes in the 52nd minute of play forced SC Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Luizão Terra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Michel Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerson Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Santos having to interfere. Tales Madureira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Túlio Santos firmly grabbed it by the left post. Túlio Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Peres in the 67th minute of play. SC Corinthians Paulista's Tales Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Túlio Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luís Fabiano Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jauaraita's protests and gave Luís Fabiano Cordeiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Luís Fabiano Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jauaraita's Túlio Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Jauaraita from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Geraldo de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jauaraita's supporters rose to their feet, but Geraldo de Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luizão Terra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geraldo de Moraes in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luizão Terra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Michel Peres came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the SC Corinthians Paulista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michel Peres couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Corinthians Paulista had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
