A collision led to Gordos d B. getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Otávio Albuquerque hit a great ball. Nestor Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vera Cruz FN's Eusébio Carioca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Vera Cruz FN from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute, Vera Cruz FN's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rogério Linares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Vera Cruz FN's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Rogério Linares scored to the left of an out of position Eusébio Carioca, making the score, 1-0. Gordos d B.'s Fabiano Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Mendonça in the 24th minute of play. Fabiano Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cido Arantes's late challenge caught a Gordos d B.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cido Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Gordos d B. getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Bruno Vander hit a great ball. Nestor Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Catarinense having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Rubinho Leal made a precise shot to the right of Fabiano Catarinense. Gordos d B.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nestor Mendonça made a kick off. Anselmo Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otávio Albuquerque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Vera Cruz FN booed when Gordos d B. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otávio Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cido Arantes, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Fabiano Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Mendonça in the 75th minute of play. Eusébio Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Nestor Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Fabiano Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubinho Leal got free with Fabiano Catarinense in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vera Cruz FN's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hamílton Toscano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hamílton Toscano made a great header on Gordos d B.'s corner, it was just that Vera Cruz FN's Eusébio Carioca managed to reach the ball for a save. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
