Wiliam Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Váldson de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, Paulinho de Almeida made a precise shot to the right of Tiago Gabriel Vergílio. Ibiara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Marcinho Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcinho Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiara's zone, Germano Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tiago Gabriel Vergílio. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
