After 3 minutes, Aírton Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibiara and the Galena players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ibiara's Aírton Soares got a free kick in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Vale in the 4th minute of play forced Ibiara's goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Ibiara's Marcinho Pereira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Renan Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 10thth minute of the game Régis Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibiara's Tiago Gabriel Vergílio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Váldson de Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Renan Chaves made a huge save. Elder Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to Galena getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Régis Vale hit a great ball. Betão de Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Régis Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiago Gabriel Vergílio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. If Moisés Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júnior Souza hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcinho Pereira to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Galena defense, Váldson de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renan Chaves. The Galena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renan Chaves should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Váldson de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibiara's supporters rose to their feet, but Váldson de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renan Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Ibiara defense, Régis Vale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiago Gabriel Vergílio. The Ibiara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiago Gabriel Vergílio should have stopped the shot. When Régis Vale came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Galena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Régis Vale couldn't finish the play. Moisés Martins hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 79 played minutes, Galena's Moisés Martins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Vergílio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galena reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Régis Vale during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Galena getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Régis Vale hit a great ball. Régis Vale who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Tiago Gabriel Vergílio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 89 minutes into the game, Sílvio Gomes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Tiago Gabriel Vergílio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galena eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
