When Inácio Bezerra fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipitangueiros's protests and gave Inácio Bezerra a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ipitangueiros's Inácio Bezerra got a free kick in the 4th minute. Inácio Bezerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Luiz Rocha struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Donato Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipitangueiros. If Eriberto de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Rocha in the 16th minute of the match. Pedro Luiz Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Silvério de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 played minutes, Ipitangueiros's Pedro Luís Terra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Donato Amorim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ipitangueiros reached it. Taboco's Donato Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Bezerra in the 39th minute of play. Claudinei Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudinei Luz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Claudinei Luz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Taboco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A hard shot 57 in the game by Pedro Luiz Rocha from a close distance when the talented Donato Amorim managed to make a qualified save. Taboco's players were relieved. Pedro Luiz Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Amorim having to interfere. Ipitangueiros's Fabrício Saldanha shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 63rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Donato Amorim but with some difficulty. Donato Amorim made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Eriberto de Sousa sent off a good shot on target. Rubens Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Luiz Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Inácio Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipitangueiros's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Bezerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Eriberto de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubens Mendes hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Pedro Luiz Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Amorim having to interfere. Rubens Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Ipitangueiros's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ipitangueiros may have spent more time on the ball, but Taboco were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
