Spectators: 7055 (Terracing: 5405, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gilmar Eger kicked off to start the match. Douglas de Souza struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Paulinho Camargo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portel F.C.. When Wellington Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Grêmio F.B.P.A fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wellington Abraão couldn't finish the play. After 14 played minutes Portel F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Soeiro. Hortêncio Mendes's late challenge caught a Grêmio F.B.P.A's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hortêncio Mendes helped the player get up and apologised. Hortêncio Mendes hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When Gilmar Eger came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Grêmio F.B.P.A fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Eger couldn't finish the play. José Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Abraão in the 24th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Portel F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Wellington Abraão came free, but José Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes, Tostão Soeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portel F.C. and the Grêmio F.B.P.A players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of Portel F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Grêmio F.B.P.A:s goal. In the 40thth minute of the game Jeremias Lara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio F.B.P.A's Paulinho Camargo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Eger in the 42nd minute of play forced Portel F.C.'s goalkeeper José Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Roberto Koehler came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Grêmio F.B.P.A fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Koehler couldn't finish the play. Gilmar Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. José Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Portel F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grêmio F.B.P.A were winning 0-1.

After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio F.B.P.A's zone, Douglas de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulinho Camargo came out of the goal and Douglas de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulinho Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Monteiro in the 54th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wellington Abraão got free with José Paiva in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Portel F.C.'s Jeremias Lara got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Luiz Paulo Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Luís Eduardo Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th match minute, Portel F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Mendes to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Portel F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Eger came free, but José Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hortêncio Mendes hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Jeremias Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Roberto Koehler notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Portel F.C.'s José Paiva. José Paiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice moves Wellington Abraão could shoot a difficult shot in the 97th minute, which José Paiva however easily saved by the left post.
