The referee ignored Anajas's protests and gave Matheus Moura a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Pires's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lenílson Arce was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. In the 64th match minute, Anajas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani Quirino to maneuver through the defense. Lenílson Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Leme in the 66th minute of play. Murilo Quintal might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dráuzio Breckenfeld. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murilo Quintal ran back to his position shaking his head. 73 minutes into the game, II Vasco II's Joaquim Motta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lenílson Arce made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After having played for 76 minutes, Murilo Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anajas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murilo Quintal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lenílson Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Manuel Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
