With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinei Seco in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeca Correia saved Quirinopolis from getting behind. Mané Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Remo Paranaense hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Claudinei Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SouPobre Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudinei Seco to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, SouPobre Futebol Clube's Claudinei Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeca Correia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Gernando Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quirinopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Gernando Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Claudinei Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Claudinei Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeca Correia was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Emílio Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74thth minute of the game Perivaldo de Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SouPobre Futebol Clube's Emílio Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gualter Santos during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes SouPobre Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Santos. After a defensive mix-up in SouPobre Futebol Clube's zone, Perivaldo de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Monteiro came out of the goal and Perivaldo de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the match, Gernando Fonseca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emílio Monteiro. SouPobre Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gernando Fonseca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Zeca Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio Vieira in the 84th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Perivaldo de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quirinopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Perivaldo de Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Claudinei Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quirinopolis's Zeca Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Santos in the 95th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Gernando Fonseca got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Quirinopolis's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
