Spectators: 7165 (Terracing: 5408, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Perivaldo de Azevedo started the match with the kick off. Gernando Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gernando Fonseca kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 6thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Grêmio F.B.P.A's keeper Paulinho Camargo was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. 8 minutes into the match, Quirinopolis's Perivaldo de Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulinho Camargo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zeca Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wellington Abraão in the 13th minute of the match. Mauro Rodrigues lost his temper 15 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Grêmio F.B.P.A! After a rather tough play, Quirinopolis's Mané Dante got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Wellington Abraão struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Zeca Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio F.B.P.A. Roberto Koehler hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Grêmio F.B.P.A's Paulinho Camargo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio F.B.P.A from getting a goal against them. Paulinho Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulinho Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo de Azevedo in the 37th minute of play. Gernando Fonseca's late challenge caught a Grêmio F.B.P.A's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gernando Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th minute, Gernando Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeca Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gernando Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Paulinho Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wellington Abraão to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Quirinopolis's Perivaldo de Azevedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulinho Camargo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Wellington Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Correia having to interfere. If Gernando Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zeca Correia made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Wellington Abraão sent off a good shot on target. Paulinho Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Perivaldo de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Quirinopolis booed when Grêmio F.B.P.A was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 played minutes, Quirinopolis's Sérgio Alvarenga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulinho Camargo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quirinopolis reached it. Perivaldo de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Roberto Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio F.B.P.A's protests and gave Roberto Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. Roberto Koehler hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Quirinopolis's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
