The audience thought a goal was coming when Acácio Vieira got free with Joélson Ortiz in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emílio Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Jacinto in the 12th minute of play. If Sílvio Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Emílio Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to SouPobre Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Gualter Santos hit a great ball. Haroldo Paraense hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Jacinto in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emílio Monteiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the match, Sílvio Jacinto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emílio Monteiro. SouPobre Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Jacinto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Joélson Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Seco in the 39th minute of play. With a little luck, Pereiro's Joélson Ortiz got control of the ball when Acácio Vieira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudinei Seco to make the kick off. After 69 minutes, Gilvan Abraão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pereiro and the SouPobre Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Jacinto in the 76th minute of play forced SouPobre Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Emílio Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SouPobre Futebol Clube's Carlos Fernando da Fonseca couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 78th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pereiro. Acácio Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emílio Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Jacinto in the 85th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, Oséas Martins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emílio Monteiro. SouPobre Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oséas Martins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.
