Spectators: 7253 (Terracing: 5441, Seating: 1668, VIP seats: 144) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Elano Severo made the kick off which started today's match. Bago's Cássio Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano Severo in the 4th minute of play. Anísio Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Capanga SS's zone, Michel Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Teixeira came out of the goal and Michel Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Michel Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th match minute, Capanga SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Siqueira to maneuver through the defense. Capanga SS's Elano Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Elano Severo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Bago's Cássio Pirani. Cássio Pirani was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Michel Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Teixeira having to interfere. Hudson Mattos charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hudson Mattos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bago booed when Capanga SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hudson Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Bago's Serafim Andrade slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anísio Teixeira. That made the score 1-1 after 25 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Couto got free with Anísio Teixeira in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serafim Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Teixeira having to interfere. Michel Couto in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anísio Teixeira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Michel Couto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bago's supporters rose to their feet, but Michel Couto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michel Couto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Anísio Teixeira made a huge save. Michel Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Anísio Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Capanga SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio de Lara to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafim Andrade was the one to do the kick off. Jefferson Sena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anísio Teixeira. Capanga SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Michel Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Orlando Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Serafim Andrade sped through Capanga SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anísio Teixeira. If Michel Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serafim Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anísio Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafim Andrade in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th match minute, Bago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Bago's Cássio Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano Severo in the 81st minute of play. Capanga SS's Luiz Fernando Munhoz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cássio Pirani but with some difficulty. In the 98th minute, Elano Severo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There was no doubt that Bago were the better team. Bago's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
