Spectators: 7203 (Terracing: 5404, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) When Naldo Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Palestra Itália EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naldo Tasso couldn't finish the play. After 4 minutes of play, Palestra Itália EC's Wilton Sergipano made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio Pirani was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 6th match minute, Palestra Itália EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Dante to maneuver through the defense. If Michel Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the match, Palestra Itália EC's Naldo Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cássio Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Serafim Andrade received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Robinho Hoffmann came out and tried to block the shot, but Serafim Andrade slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 16th minute. Naldo Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Horácio Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Tasso in the 32nd minute of play. If Wilton Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Michel Couto fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Naldo Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Cássio Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Cássio Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Sergipano in the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th match minute, Palestra Itália EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Bago booed when Palestra Itália EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Michel Couto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 67th play minutes Michel Couto shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Robinho Hoffmann and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in Palestra Itália EC's zone, Michel Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho Hoffmann came out of the goal and Michel Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naldo Tasso in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cássio Pirani, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cássio Pirani made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Naldo Tasso sent off a good shot on target. After 77 played minutes Bago got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Andrade. In the 78th minute Wilton Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robinho Hoffmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Bago's Serafim Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robinho Hoffmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Couto in the 85th minute of play forced Palestra Itália EC's goalkeeper Robinho Hoffmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Palestra Itália EC's Claudinho Magalhães dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Wilton Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
