The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tiaguinho Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Proença having to interfere. Vágner Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulisses Motta in the 7th minute of the match. If Dedé de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiaguinho Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Oswaldo Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sousel EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! Vágner Félix went to the wrong direction when Edmundo Souto was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Motta in the 22nd minute of play forced Sousel EC's goalkeeper Vágner Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Vito Jacinto made a precise shot to the right of Vágner Félix. Sousel EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Vito Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muliterno's supporters rose to their feet, but Vito Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vito Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Félix having to interfere. Vágner Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ulisses Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Félix having to interfere. Sousel EC's Vágner Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulisses Motta in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Ulisses Motta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vágner Félix was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ulisses Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Muliterno were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulisses Motta to strike the kick off in the second half. Magno Koehler charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Magno Koehler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Muliterno booed when Sousel EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magno Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. César Abraão did an outstanding performance 53 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-3 to the right of an irritated Vágner Félix in the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Muliterno's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Barros came free, but Oswaldo Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 minutes, Romário Urbano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sousel EC and the Muliterno players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Sousel EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romário Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Vágner Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulisses Motta in the 65th minute of the match. Vágner Félix didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vito Jacinto went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Oswaldo Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Barros in the 72nd minute of play. Vito Jacinto came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vágner Félix could save by the left post. Ulisses Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Vágner Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Muliterno's Dedé de Sena got a free kick in the 85th minute. If Vito Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Muliterno's zone, Marcos Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oswaldo Proença came out of the goal and Marcos Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Vito Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muliterno's supporters rose to their feet, but Vito Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vágner Félix stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vito Jacinto's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. When the match was over Muliterno could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sousel EC throughout the match.
