New Life's Carlos Alberto Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Branco in the 5th minute of play. In the 13th minute Vladimir Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimir Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jano Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Jano Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Alberto Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir Branco in the 26th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Tiago Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Life's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Simão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kryspin Osowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to New Life getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Rony Duarte hit a great ball. The long shot by Wahyu Sugendo in the 36th minute really tested Carlos Alberto Travassos's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jano Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kryspin Osowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Simão in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vladimir Branco was the one to do the kick off. If Vladimir Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in New Life's zone, Dieguinho Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Alberto Travassos came out of the goal and Dieguinho Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Alberto Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir Branco in the 66th minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, New Life's goal looked a bit too open when Dieguinho Albuquerque came free, but Carlos Alberto Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kryspin Osowski didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. New Life's Tiago Simão got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Alberto Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dieguinho Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th match minute, New Life was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. Dieguinho Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Carlos Alberto Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Arrelia AD booed when New Life was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vito de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball.
