After a rather tough play, New Life's Vito de Mendonça got a free kick in the 12th minute. Carlos Alberto Travassos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulisses Motta's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Muliterno's Oswaldo Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Simão in the 17th minute of play. Tiago Simão was extremely unlucky when he, in the 19th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Carlos Alberto Travassos came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Muliterno's Vito Jacinto. But to his dismay, Vito Jacinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tiago Simão struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Oswaldo Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Life. If Tiago Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Alberto Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vito Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jano Massa came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the New Life fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano Massa couldn't finish the play. After 36 played minutes Muliterno got a freekick which was hit by César Abraão. In the 37th minute, New Life's Tiago Simão dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 40th minute, Dedé de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Afonso Pena from long distance, 41 minutes into the match, got Oswaldo Proença's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Vito Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Carlos Alberto Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, New Life's Tiago Simão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswaldo Proença narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulisses Motta made a kick off. Vito de Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vito de Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 51st match minute, New Life was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Alberto Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses Motta in the 52nd minute of play. Luisinho Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Vito Jacinto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Alberto Travassos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 73rd minute, Tiago Simão made a precise shot to the right of Oswaldo Proença. Muliterno's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. If Vito Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulisses Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vito Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Travassos having to interfere. During the 85th minute of the match Vito de Mendonça completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Vito de Mendonça a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 85th minute, Vito de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vito Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. New Life's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
