The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandão Furlan was the one to do the kick off. Thiago Lago's late challenge caught a Monlevade's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thiago Lago helped the player get up and apologised. After 51 played minutes Ilhota got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Lago. After a rather tough play, Ilhota's Celso Costa got a free kick in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Ramiro Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monlevade's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramiro Neiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mateus Urbano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
