The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonçalo Catarinense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Mamutes F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eugênio de Brito came free, but Gonçalo Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Jano Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vaca Veia's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Koehler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anísio Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mamutes F.C.'s Umberto Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vaca Veia's Guto Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo da Rocha in the 27th minute of play. Umberto Linhares's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Guto Cosme firmly grabbed it by the left post. Guto Cosme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Umberto Linhares in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vaca Veia's goalkeeper Guto Cosme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Vaca Veia defense, Paulo da Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guto Cosme. The Vaca Veia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guto Cosme should have stopped the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Mamutes F.C.'s Umberto Linhares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guto Cosme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guto Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anísio Braga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Gonçalo Catarinense made a huge save.
