Spectators: 7032 (Terracing: 5390, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 142) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Dedê Barbosa made the kick off which started today's match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dadá Cardoso during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dadá Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Gonçalo Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Linhares in the 6th minute of the match. After 6 played minutes Mamutes F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Medeiros. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Mamutes F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Mamutes F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dedê Barbosa came free, but Gonçalo Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gonçalo Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Tony Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the game, Telmo Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mamutes F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos FC the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dedê Barbosa in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonçalo Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dedê Barbosa in the 29th minute. Dedê Barbosa made a great header on Santos FC's corner, it was just that Mamutes F.C.'s Gonçalo Catarinense managed to reach the ball for a save. When Filipe Varela came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Santos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Varela couldn't finish the play. Gonçalo Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Freitas in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo da Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. If Baltazar Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dedê Barbosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gonçalo Catarinense made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nilmar Tasso during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tony Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kléber Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo da Rocha in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mamutes F.C.'s zone, Dedê Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonçalo Catarinense came out of the goal and Dedê Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tony Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute Baltazar Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Acácio Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute of the match Gilberto Seco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kléber Barral skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Barbosa in the 73rd minute of play forced Mamutes F.C.'s goalkeeper Gonçalo Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mamutes F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dedê Barbosa was slow to take the kick. During this time Santos FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Santos FC's corner Tony Prado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gonçalo Catarinense quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Mamutes F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Santos FC's Luizinho Freitas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gonçalo Catarinense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho Medeiros came free, but Kléber Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonçalo Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Linhares in the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Luizinho Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
