Spectators: 7222 (Terracing: 5418, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Ramiro Neiva made the kick off and thus started the match. After 3 minutes, Jano Koehler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vaca Veia and the Monlevade players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jano Koehler hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. When Monlevade's Ramiro Neiva in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vaca Veia's goalie prevented a goal. If Eugênio de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elói Paraíba's late challenge caught a Vaca Veia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elói Paraíba helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Monlevade getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Elói Paraíba hit a great ball. Anísio Braga scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cleiton Teles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arthur Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Cosme having to interfere. Ramiro Neiva scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guto Cosme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vaca Veia were furious when Mané Dionísio was red carded, 33 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 33rd minute, one of Vaca Veia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vaca Veia. The goalkeeper, Guto Cosme, was totally fooled by Monlevade's Sílvio Vianna, who 36 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a defensive mix-up in Vaca Veia's zone, Arthur Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guto Cosme came out of the goal and Arthur Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Fabiano Brasil charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Fabiano Brasil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Monlevade booed when Vaca Veia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Arthur Sousa struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Guto Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monlevade. A collision led to Monlevade getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Gilvan Mineiro hit a great ball. Cleiton Teles made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Anísio Braga sent off a good shot on target. Ramiro Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Guto Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramiro Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Guto Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aloísio Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 71 played minutes Vaca Veia got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Britto. Arthur Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guto Cosme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Guto Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Sousa in the 74th minute of play. In the 77th minute Gilvan Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 played minutes Vaca Veia got a freekick which was hit by Jano Koehler. After a defensive mix-up in Monlevade's zone, Anísio Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cleiton Teles came out of the goal and Anísio Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guto Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Monlevade were the better team. Monlevade's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
