FDS CLUB's Jorge Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FDS CLUB's Sydney Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save FDS CLUB from getting a goal against them. In the 20th minute of the match Dadá Cardoso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sydney Neves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Geovanni Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. FDS CLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovanni Monteiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Geovanni Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. FDS CLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovanni Monteiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mamutes F.C.'s Gonçalo Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Monteiro in the 32nd minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jorge Costa made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Toninho Medeiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sydney Neves was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Umberto Linhares in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Umberto Linhares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sydney Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Geovanni Monteiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gonçalo Catarinense firmly grabbed it by the left post. 74 minutes into the match, Mamutes F.C.'s goalkeeper Gonçalo Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geovanni Monteiro. With splendid footwork Jorge Costa arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-2 by the left pole in the game's 96th minute.
