The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Equipe Cão's Amadeu Alvarenga managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Geovani da Costa in the 5 minute of the game. Cléber Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Proença having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Roceira's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Alvarenga came free, but Cacá Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Teodoro da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 16 played minutes Equipe Cão got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Alvarenga. After 22 minutes, Cléber Paraense made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Roceira's Cacá Proença tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cacá Proença came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Equipe Cão's Cléber Paraense. But to his dismay, Cléber Paraense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Bernardinho Lira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 42nd playminute. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Roceira's goalkeeper Cacá Proença, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amadeu Alvarenga might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cacá Proença. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amadeu Alvarenga ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davi Baptista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Equipe Cão's Amadeu Alvarenga managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Geovani da Costa in the 59 minute of the game. After 65 played minutes Equipe Cão got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Alcântara. 67 minutes into the match, Equipe Cão's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardinho Lira came free, but Francisco Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardinho Lira in the 70th minute of play forced Equipe Cão's goalkeeper Francisco Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes, Edu Mandrak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Equipe Cão and the Roceira players grew even worse after the yellow card. Davi Baptista struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Francisco Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roceira. Francisco Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Igor Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute of the match Equipe Cão got a corner. Roceira's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cléber Paraense ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Cléber Paraense got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cacá Proença quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Francisco Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davi Baptista in the 93rd minute of the match. When Amadeu Alvarenga came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Equipe Cão fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amadeu Alvarenga couldn't finish the play. The Roceira players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
