Décio Ortiz started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Forset Sport Club getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Miguel Hoffmann hit a great ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Hélder Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Forset Sport Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélder Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Fábio das Neves made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Kléberson Silva sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Décio Ortiz in the 13th minute of play forced Forset Sport Club's goalkeeper Luís Fábio das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Forset Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Décio Ortiz came free, but Luís Fábio das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonso Mangueira during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Hélder Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Forset Sport Club's zone, Kléberson Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio das Neves came out of the goal and Kléberson Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reginaldo Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernani Duarte in the 42nd minute of play. Kléberson Silva struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Luís Fábio das Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magu SC. In the 44th minute Décio Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Magu SC defense, Ernani Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reginaldo Camargo. The Magu SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reginaldo Camargo should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernani Duarte was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernani Duarte in the 53rd minute of play forced Magu SC's goalkeeper Reginaldo Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Kléberson Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Décio Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Magu SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Duarte came free, but Reginaldo Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reginaldo Camargo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hélder Senna in the 82nd minute. If Décio Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Benjamim Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Décio Ortiz scored 1-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Fábio das Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Décio Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fábio das Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Décio Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head. Luís Fábio das Neves came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Magu SC's Kléberson Silva. But to his dismay, Kléberson Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Luís Fábio das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléberson Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
