He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pé de Rato F.C reached it. Flavinho Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlinhos Prata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dé Viana's late challenge caught a Pindamonhangaba VC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dé Viana helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Pindamonhangaba VC. Waldir da Fonseca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Augusto Alcântara. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Carioca in the 19th minute of play forced Pé de Rato F.C's goalkeeper Augusto Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot by Ediberto Varela from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Flavinho Goiano's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cafu Sarmento in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dudu Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Augusto Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Cafu Sarmento notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Pé de Rato F.C's Augusto Alcântara. Augusto Alcântara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Dudu Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pindamonhangaba VC's Cafu Sarmento got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlinhos Prata to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Pé de Rato F.C got a freekick which was hit by Waldir Luz. After 63 minutes, Cafu Sarmento made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Pé de Rato F.C's Augusto Alcântara tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Pedrinho Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pé de Rato F.C's protests and gave Pedrinho Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. Augusto Alcântara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldir da Fonseca in the 81st minute. Augusto Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Pindamonhangaba VC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
