When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cafu Sarmento to make the kick off. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when JV Lideral's Edmílson Arce in the 58th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Flavinho Goiano was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Pindamonhangaba VC through an amazing save. Pindamonhangaba VC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
