José Pedro Matos's late challenge caught a Barathinaikos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in JV Lideral's zone, Matheus Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcinho de Azevedo came out of the goal and Matheus Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The wind increased when Edmílson Arce made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, JV Lideral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Quintal to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho Paiva in the 53rd minute of play forced JV Lideral's goalkeeper Marcinho de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th match minute, JV Lideral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisinho Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored JV Lideral's protests and gave Vinícius Salgado a yellow card for diving instead. Barathinaikos's Emílio Dionísio was substituted for Franklin Leite. A collision led to JV Lideral getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Vinícius Salgado hit a great ball. The goalkeeper, Valdo Barbosa, was totally fooled by JV Lideral's Raphael de Lima, who 77 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Elói Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elói Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Marcinho de Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barathinaikos. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Evaristo Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barathinaikos's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcinho de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85thth minute of the game Elói Cardoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but JV Lideral's Marcinho de Azevedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Elói Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcinho de Azevedo was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Elói Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
