Spectators: 7177 (Terracing: 5416, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Celso Mello started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Barral in the 3rd minute of play forced Itacurussa's goalkeeper Artur dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 6 minutes of play, Caviuna EC's Claudinho Nóbrega made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artur dos Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Renato Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the game, Claudinho Nóbrega was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caviuna EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itacurussa the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Caviuna EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the match, João Francisco Barral dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Artur dos Santos, 3-0. Evaristo Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ademir Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Caviuna EC defense, Celso Mello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ademir Tróia. The Caviuna EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ademir Tróia should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute, Carlos Alberto Saldanha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Artur dos Santos. The goal made the score 4-1. Caviuna EC's Ademir Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Mello in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto Saldanha was the one to do the kick off. Carlos Alberto Saldanha struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Artur dos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caviuna EC. 58 minutes into the match, Itacurussa's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Nóbrega came free, but Artur dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Claudinho Nóbrega had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur dos Santos. Itacurussa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinho Nóbrega was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. In the 79th minute Claudinho Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Caviuna EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ademir Tróia should have stopped the shot. Caviuna EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
