Adelino Brasil took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 2nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlos Eduardo Montenegro. The referee ignored Divino's protests and gave Benedito Barreto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jatei AD booed when Divino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 minutes, Germano Figueiredo made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Jatei AD's Josué Cerezo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Cerezo in the 20th minute of play forced Jatei AD's goalkeeper Josué Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josué Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Cerezo in the 21st minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eurico Félix stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Adalberto Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josué Cerezo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Silas da Silva.
