Kaká Meirelles dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 15th minute, Nelsinho Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Bela Vista's Manoel Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Hoffmann in the 19th minute of play. Márcio Reis struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Manoel Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibiquitaba AD. Manoel Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kaká Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Dário Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kaká Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cacá Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 33 minutes of play, Ibiquitaba AD's Nelsinho Hoffmann made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manoel Damião was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nelsinho Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Damião having to interfere. If Márcio Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kaká Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Kaká Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Bela Vista's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaká Meirelles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dário Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nelsinho Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Damião having to interfere. In the 58thth minute of the game Nelsinho Hoffmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Bela Vista's Manoel Damião was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Real Bela Vista's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nelsinho Hoffmann 59 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Real Bela Vista's Marco Favoretto got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Márcio Reis scored 0-3 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manoel Damião, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Manoel Damião successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kaká Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Massa having to interfere. Nelsinho Hoffmann had several of the Real Bela Vista's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 80 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Manoel Damião as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 85th match minute, Ibiquitaba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitório Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute of the match Erik Velloso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dário Massa skillfully saved the ball. Manoel Damião stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelsinho Hoffmann's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Real Bela Vista fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 95 minutes, Ibiquitaba AD's Charles Maranhense got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Manoel Damião. Alexandre Fernandez hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The Ibiquitaba AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ibiquitaba AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
