Gilbert Coussement fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Koehler having to interfere. Jefferson Dionísio charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jefferson Dionísio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, Cococa SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jefferson Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. Jerônimo Koehler made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Gilbert Coussement sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Riachinho booed when Cococa SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erivaldo Chaves in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerônimo Koehler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erivaldo Chaves in the 31st minute of play forced Cococa SC's goalkeeper Jerônimo Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilbert Coussement could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Jerônimo Koehler made a huge save. Riachinho were furious when Joaquim Almeida was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Riachinho!

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Luz to make the kick off. The Jerônimo Koehler was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Claudinei de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. When Gilbert Coussement came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Riachinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Coussement couldn't finish the play. Wellington Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gilbert Coussement might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerônimo Koehler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilbert Coussement ran back to his position shaking his head. After 92 played minutes Riachinho got a freekick which was hit by Martin Efren. Jerônimo Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilbert Coussement, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Although Riachinho had been in control for most of the match, Cococa SC still came away with the win.
