Gilvan Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo da Mata having to interfere. Raimundo da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murilo Arantes in the 20th minute of the match. Gilvan Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Raimundo da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manchester United's Raimundo da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Arantes in the 30th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Inesopolis got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Rodrigues. Ernani Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Raimundo da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Murilo Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amauri Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Ceresso in the 44th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Inesopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Barbosa came free, but Amauri Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilvan Abraão to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernani Barbosa in the 63rd minute of play forced Inesopolis's goalkeeper Amauri Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilvan Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Raimundo da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Murilo Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Inesopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernani Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Amauri Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Raimundo da Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luiz Guilherme Soeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Guilherme Soeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd minute, Luiz Guilherme Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernani Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
