Humberto Vieira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Evandro de Amorim made a huge save. In the 13th minute, Carlton Blends's Arthur da Mata dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Wilson da Mata took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Enrique Alves. Carlton Blends's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match, Humberto Vieira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Evandro de Amorim was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Antônio Carlos Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlton Blends's Enrique Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Coelho in the 25th minute of play. Eduardo de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Alves having to interfere. In the 37th minute Thomás Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evandro de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Alves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dudu Vander went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 43rd minute of the match Wilson da Mata shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Enrique Alves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Evandro de Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Barbosa in the 44th minute of play. Carlton Blends's Enrique Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Coelho in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Silas Mazza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trancogo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carlton Blends the free kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antônio Carlos Coelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Enrique Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandrinho Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thomás Miranda during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carlton Blends's goalkeeper Enrique Alves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Enrique Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubinho Cardozo in the 65th minute of play. After 66 minutes of play, Carlton Blends's Nico Barbosa made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evandro de Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nico Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Evandro de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Carlton Blends's goalkeeper Enrique Alves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduardo de Sousa. After a defensive mix-up in Carlton Blends's zone, Antônio Carlos Coelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Alves came out of the goal and Antônio Carlos Coelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Antônio Carlos Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trancogo's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio Carlos Coelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enrique Alves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio Carlos Coelho in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo de Sousa in the 87th minute of play forced Carlton Blends's goalkeeper Enrique Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlton Blends's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
