After a rather tough play, Taboas's Dráuzio Sabóia got a free kick in the 7th minute. Décio Santana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilson Paulista's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. In the 22nd minute, Abel de Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22ndth minute of the game Gilson Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taboas's Décio Santana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Assiz's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gildo do Valle fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Abel de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Décio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Gilson Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Décio Santana came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Assiz's Abel de Salles. But to his dismay, Abel de Salles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Aílton Tróia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adalberto Vieira. That made the score 1-1 in the 47 minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Aílton Tróia made the kick off in the second half. Gilson Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Décio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aílton Tróia couldn't finish the play. Gilson Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Santana having to interfere. A collision led to Taboas getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Antônio Soares hit a great ball. In the 94th minute of the match Mário Capixaba shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adalberto Vieira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 95th match minute, Assiz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Santana to maneuver through the defense. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
