Tadeu de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Quintal's late challenge caught a Miramar E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But to his dismay, Luiz Fernando Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of Miramar E.C booed when Carvalho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeu de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, one of Carvalho:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carvalho. The referee gave Miramar E.C a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gino Sá, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Carvalho's Rogério Siqueira. 2-0. Cristóvão Seco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeu de Mendonça went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Lúcio Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Seco having to interfere. If Luiz Fernando Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jaime Borges came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Miramar E.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Borges couldn't finish the play.

When José Mesquita fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miramar E.C's protests and gave José Mesquita a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Miramar E.C's José Mesquita got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Rogério Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Souto in the 71st minute of the match. If Luiz Fernando Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Jaime Borges ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rogério Siqueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Cristóvão Seco didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 80th minute, which inside left pole to 4-2. Jaime Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Miramar E.C's goalkeeper Cristóvão Seco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lúcio Fontes. José Augusto Gomes hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Carvalho players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Miramar E.C.
