The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Miramar E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gino Sá to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the game, Valdomiro Maranhense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cristóvão Seco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Valdomiro Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Eagles AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdomiro Maranhense couldn't finish the play. Cristóvão Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Cristóvão Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Eagles AC's Miguel Ángel Russo got control of the ball when Luiz Fernando Souto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute, Alessandro Nóbrega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Valdomiro Maranhense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristóvão Seco was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Valdomiro Maranhense took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristóvão Seco. Cristóvão Seco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Alessandro Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Seco having to interfere. Cristóvão Seco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro Maranhense's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Borges to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristóvão Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro Maranhense in the 53rd minute of play. Miramar E.C's Cristóvão Seco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Miramar E.C from getting a goal against them. Valdomiro Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Eagles AC were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Miramar E.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Toninho Oliveira took the corner. The corner led Eagles AC's Dário Bueno to fire away a dangerous shot which Cristóvão Seco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Valdomiro Maranhense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristóvão Seco having to make a save. With his leg Cristóvão Seco managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Eagles AC's Valdomiro Maranhense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 68th minute, Luiz Fernando Souto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Ángel Russo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Souto in the 70th minute of play. Miguel Ángel Russo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Nikos Stamatis's late challenge caught a Miramar E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nikos Stamatis helped the player get up and apologised. Nikos Stamatis hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Eagles AC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
