The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Angelo Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After some careless play in the Ibaiti Hills defense, Perivaldo Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Hermes. The Ibaiti Hills fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Hermes should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute, Fellipe de Amorim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ibaiti Hills fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. William Simão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fellipe de Amorim in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in A.E.Santacruzense's zone, Manuel Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Simão came out of the goal and Manuel Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ibaiti Hills's Dagoberto Neto quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Deivid Moraes, made in the 43rd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fellipe de Amorim in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck William Simão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute Manuel Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.E.Santacruzense's William Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Mota in the 46th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ibaiti Hills's Manuel Mota slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of William Simão. That made the score 4-1 after 48 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Perivaldo Gerber made a kick off. 5-1 became the score in the 54th minute when Fellipe de Amorim elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 56 played minutes Ibaiti Hills got a freekick which was hit by Betão Bastos. Manuel Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. William Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6-1 became the score in the 70th minute when Manuel Mota elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
