The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adalberto Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Carioca in the 17th minute of play. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Força da Colina booed when Lumiar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafinha Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narciso Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Nico Abreu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Força da Colina. Força da Colina's Adalberto Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Gomes in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Lumiar's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Alcântara came free, but Nico Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walmir Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adalberto Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Carioca in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Força da Colina's Nelsinho Vianna got a free kick in the 38th minute. Marcelinho Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Adalberto Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Força da Colina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felippe Sá to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Adalberto Queiroz had in the 73rdth minute some difficulties stopping Luís Guilherme Tepedino's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to Lumiar getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Rafinha Lara hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the game, Rafinha Lara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lumiar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Força da Colina the free kick. After a rather tough play, Lumiar's Rafinha Lara got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After a rather tough play, Lumiar's Rafinha Lara got a free kick in the 97th minute. 98 minutes into the match, Força da Colina's Caio Teixeira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
