The crowd rose to their feet as Lúcio Leal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Donato. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. If Duarte Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. RATOS FC's Paulo Donato proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save RATOS FC from getting a goal against them. Taquaral's Doni Paes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar Barros in the 21st minute of play. Norberto Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Juarês Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute.
