Waldemar de Souza made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Caco Abreu sent off a good shot on target. CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS's Waldemar de Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS from getting a goal against them. In the 14th minute, Felippe Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 16th minute, Celtic Sport Clube's Carlos Augusto Arantes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Laerte Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percival Baiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felippe Campidelis's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. If Felippe Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waldemar de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Augusto Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Oscar Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Thiago de Castro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Waldemar de Souza, 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felippe Campidelis in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Percival Baiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Caco Abreu took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldemar de Souza. Waldemar de Souza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felippe Campidelis was the one to do the kick off. CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS's Waldemar de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Augusto Arantes in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Caco Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Waldemar de Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute of the match, Laerte Fernandez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Percival Baiano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Waldemar de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic Sport Clube's zone, Laerte Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Baiano came out of the goal and Laerte Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The long shot by Dudu da Silveira in the 68th minute really tested Percival Baiano's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Celtic Sport Clube getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Felipe Mattos hit a great ball. Felippe Campidelis in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Percival Baiano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Felippe Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Percival Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic Sport Clube's zone, Thomás Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Baiano came out of the goal and Thomás Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felippe Campidelis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Percival Baiano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS's Felippe Campidelis got a free kick in the 80th minute. Waldemar de Souza came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Celtic Sport Clube's Caco Abreu. But to his dismay, Caco Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. If Oscar Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
