The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Guilherme Arantes during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Claudinho Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moinhos ES's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho da Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodriguinho da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléberson Recife in the 35th minute of play. Rodriguinho da Silva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kléberson Recife went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Pombal in the 41st minute of play forced Cacoalinho's goalkeeper Rodriguinho da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudinho Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remo Lira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rodriguinho da Silva. Cacoalinho's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time.
