In the 40th minute, Reinaldo Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nuno Costa hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reinaldo Peres to make the kick off. Claudinho Pombal in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tiago de Godoi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Kléberson Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago de Godoi having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Claudinho Pombal could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Tiago de Godoi however easily saved by the left post. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
