Benê Queirós scored 1-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Percival Baiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With his leg Juvenal Linares managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Celtic Sport Clube's Caco Abreu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thiago de Castro scored 2-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juvenal Linares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 47 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Zanette cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Juvenal Linares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benê Queirós made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Guilherme Goiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Danúbio and the Celtic Sport Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Celtic Sport Clube booed when Danúbio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caco Abreu in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juvenal Linares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 85th minute, Caco Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oscar Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Juvenal Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Caco Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juvenal Linares came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Celtic Sport Clube's Caco Abreu. But to his dismay, Caco Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After having played for 95 minutes, Caco Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
