Murilo Alvarenga came out of the goal and Teodoro de Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro de Godoi in the 13th minute of play forced Sevilha EC's goalkeeper Murilo Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldinho Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho da Silva having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Gonçalo Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldinho Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Doriva Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Sevilha EC fans jumped to their feet. Betinho Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Murilo Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Cacoalinho's Gonçalo Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute Betinho Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Betinho Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd match minute, Sevilha EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldinho Leme to maneuver through the defense. Murilo Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Cosme in the 83rd minute of play. After 86 played minutes Sevilha EC got a freekick which was hit by Adhemar Valladares. 88 minutes into the match, Sevilha EC's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Cosme came free, but Murilo Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
