Cacoalinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Betinho Cosme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Teodoro de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Squadra Borges Azzura's João Adolfo Barreto suffered a sore thigh after 41 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamílton Rodrigues during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
