Anselmo Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho Moraes in the 25th minute of play. Anselmo Paraibano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Xavier in the 30th minute of the match. Fabinho Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurinho Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Robinho Pitta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C. Corinthians Paulista. After a defensive mix-up in S.C. Corinthians Paulista's zone, Fabinho Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Paraibano came out of the goal and Fabinho Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Fabinho Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the EC Sapupira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabinho Moraes couldn't finish the play.

When Rodrigo Borges fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C. Corinthians Paulista's protests and gave Rodrigo Borges a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 65 minutes, Edgar Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EC Sapupira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nilson Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Anselmo Paraibano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save S.C. Corinthians Paulista from getting a goal against them. Fabinho Moraes might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Paraibano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabinho Moraes ran back to his position shaking his head. Robinho Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Edgar Xavier came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the EC Sapupira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Xavier couldn't finish the play. If Edgar Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The S.C. Corinthians Paulista fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. EC Sapupira were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
