Emílio Netos short, quick shot in the 49thth minute got Juarês do Nascimento to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anderson Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. E. C. XV de Bauru's Juarês do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Neto in the 54th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Gil Luz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Valdir Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juarês do Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Pontes in the 66th minute of play. If Anderson Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. Gil Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute, Edmundo Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gil Luz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The supporters of E. C. XV de Bauru booed when Oswaldo Atletico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdir Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gil Luz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Edmundo Maia came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the E. C. XV de Bauru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Maia couldn't finish the play. Anderson Moura was extremely unlucky when he, in the 97th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Edmundo Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. E. C. XV de Bauru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
