Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Luciano Saraiva came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Marineiro AD's Celsinho da Silva. But to his dismay, Celsinho da Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio F.B.P.A's zone, Fellipe Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luciano Saraiva came out of the goal and Fellipe Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Trigo in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomé Mazza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Tiaguinho de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 21 minutes, Fellipe Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marineiro AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fellipe Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiaguinho de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Mazza having to interfere. When Marineiro AD's Fellipe Linhares in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grêmio F.B.P.A's goalie prevented a goal. Jorge Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot 38 in the game by Tiaguinho de Queirós from a close distance when the talented Tomé Mazza managed to make a qualified save. Marineiro AD's players were relieved. The supporters of Grêmio F.B.P.A booed when Marineiro AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandão de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fellipe Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Luciano Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luciano Saraiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Vides charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Vides the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marineiro AD's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmílson de Medeiros was slow to take the kick. During this time Grêmio F.B.P.A's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiaguinho de Queirós in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomé Mazza saved Marineiro AD from getting behind. 59 minutes into the match, Grêmio F.B.P.A's Oscar Trigo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomé Mazza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emanuel Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 61st minute of the match Edmílson de Medeiros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomé Mazza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Grêmio F.B.P.A's goal looked a bit too open when Fellipe Linhares came free, but Luciano Saraiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celsinho da Silva was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Marineiro AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tomé Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Trigo in the 79th minute of play. Tiaguinho de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Fellipe Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marineiro AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Fellipe Linhares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luciano Saraiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Luciano Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes in the game, Celsinho da Silva fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Luciano Saraiva having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Grêmio F.B.P.A's Jarbas Schmidt got a free kick in the 95th minute. Celsinho da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marineiro AD's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
