The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Grêmio F.B.P.A's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meia Lua FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Grêmio F.B.P.A's Jarbas Schmidt got a free kick in the 80th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Oscar Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio F.B.P.A's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Grêmio F.B.P.A were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
